Out Of The Lair is a Greek metal band that was founded in 1995 under the name Wolverine but later, in March 2000, they changed their name.

"Psychotears" is their debut album and it is self-financed. I have to say that I am really impressed. Their effort is absolutely professional and before reading their bio I was trying to find out the label of the band on the back of the album. The production is very good and the artwork of the cd is of very high standards. The edition of the album that I have comes in a limited carbon box and it also includes multimedia info with bio, photos, lyrics etc. there is no doubt these guys have passion for what they do!

Musically, Out Of The Lair are into power/speed metal with a strong personal sound. The album contains 9 tracks and I most liked "Nosferatu", "Vampire Lady" which reminded me of Savatage and "Psychotears" which has Sakis Tolis of Rotting Chist as a guest musician. Their music is full of melodies and they fortunately avoided the trap of being heavily influenced by another band. I only have to say that the vocals are too much for me sometimes but I think they are ok for the fans of the style.

Support their effort or at least try to listen to this album. The guys deserve it because of their amazing job! Well done!
